What You Can Expect
Get picked up from your island hotel in the morning, transferring aboard an air-conditioned minivan to the hike’s trailhead near a local spice farm. Lace up your hiking shoes and hit the trail as you proceed on this moderately strenuous trip. Your guide will stop to point out wild ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg growing in the forest, and you’ll keep a lookout for typical wildlife like Tree boas, mockingbirds, frogs, and Mona monkeys.
Your hike proceeds uphill through the rain-forest, and the sound of rushing water will begin to come into focus as you approach two picturesque waterfalls. You’ll have time to cool off with swim in one of the crystal-clear pools, or simply relax on the rocks. After your break, make your way back to the Grand E'tang National Park Nature Center, where you can enjoy an included beverage. You’ll receive a transfer back to your hotel when the day is over.
